SIG Sauer P385: Models, Specifications, and Availability
The SIG Sauer P385 is a new 9mm striker-fired pistol family announced on September 22, 2026. It is a separate platform from the P365. This guide compares the five announced models and explains which specifications still need clarification. We have not independently tested these pistols.
P385 release date and availability
As of October 23, 2026, SIG lists all five P385 models as coming soon. Its launch announcement projects retail availability in fall and early winter; that is a release window, not confirmation of dealer inventory. Check the official P385 lineup for changes.
SIG P385 models compared
| P385-Carry | 4-inch barrel; carry configuration. |
|---|---|
| P385-Compact | Compact grip; barrel specification unresolved (4-inch description vs. 3.7-inch table). |
| P385-Full | 4.7-inch barrel; overall-length entries conflict. |
| P385-Comp | 4-inch barrel with integrated slide compensator. |
| P385-MACH3D | MACH3D compensator; barrel specification unresolved (4-inch description vs. 3.9-inch table). |
Specification caution: The Compact, Full, and MACH3D pages contain conflicting entries. Disputed measurements are identified below; we have not resolved them by guessing. Specifications and included equipment must be matched to the exact SKU.
P385-Carry

The Carry page consistently lists a 4-inch barrel. For the base 385CA-9-BXR3 configuration, SIG lists 7.22 inches in overall length, 5.64 inches in height, 1.32 inches in width, and 28.94 ounces with a magazine. Official P385-Carry specifications.
P385-Compact

The Compact is the compact-grip member of the lineup. SIG’s description lists a 4-inch barrel, but its specification table lists 3.7 inches and includes XMACRO grip references inconsistent with the P385 description. Confirm final specifications before relying on size comparisons. Official P385-Compact specifications.
P385-Full

SIG lists a 4.7-inch barrel, 5.64-inch height, 1.32-inch width, and 29.6-ounce weight with a magazine for 385F-9-BXR3. Overall length is unresolved: that base SKU reads 7.2 inches, while several other Full SKUs read 7.92 inches. We cannot treat 7.92 inches as a verified measurement for the base SKU. Official P385-Full specifications.
P385-Comp

The Comp combines a listed 4-inch barrel with an integrated slide compensator. SIG lists the base 385F-9-COMP configuration at 7.9 inches long, 5.64 inches tall, 1.32 inches wide, and 29.12 ounces with a magazine. Those are manufacturer measurements. Official P385-Comp specifications.
P385-MACH3D

The MACH3D is a separately named P385 configuration. Its description specifies a 4-inch barrel, while the SKU table reads 3.9 inches. The table also lists 7.87 inches overall and 30.56 ounces with a magazine for 385F-9-M3D; because the barrel information conflicts, those figures should not be treated as independently confirmed dimensions. Official P385-MACH3D specifications.
What is new about the P385?
SIG describes a new fire-control unit, its SIG Recoil Dampening System (SRDS), Trigger Block, and Magstrap grip system. The lineup also includes ambidextrous controls and SIG-LOC PRO optic mounting. These are announced features; manufacturer performance claims should not be read as results from our own testing.
P385 vs. P365: separate pistol families
The P385 is not a new P365 variant. The SIG P385 FAQ identifies limited compatibility with P320 magazines, the P320 AXG magwell, and P-Series dovetailed iron sights. It says other components are specific to P385 and that P320/P365 holsters do not fit. Magazine compatibility has configuration caveats; consult SIG rather than modifying parts based on this summary. For the smaller P365 family and its variants, see our P365 models comparison.
What still needs independent verification?
Final specifications for the conflicting product pages, actual retail availability, and hands-on reliability and comfort remain open questions. This is a source-based model reference. No P385 first-hand test account was present in the inherited article, and we have not added one. SIG’s claims about recoil reduction, drop testing, or duty suitability are manufacturer statements, not results of testing conducted by Concealed Carry Society. We will distinguish confirmed specifications from unresolved details as the launch develops.

Manuals, safe handling, and secure storage
Use the instructions supplied with the exact pistol and consult SIG’s owner’s manual directory or SIG support for the current P385 manual. This link is a directory, not a verified P385-specific PDF. Never substitute a P365 or P320 manual simply because the names are similar.
Keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction and your finger outside the trigger guard until ready to fire. Mechanical safety features do not replace safe handling. Store firearms unloaded and locked against unauthorized access, with ammunition secured separately; keep keys and access codes away from children and unauthorized users. Obtain qualified instruction and check applicable storage, transport, and carry requirements.
Source notes and revision record
Reviewed October 23, 2026 against SIG’s launch announcement, five model pages, P385 lineup, FAQ, and manual directory. The lineup still labels all five models coming soon; this does not establish inventory at any retailer. The fall/early-winter 2026 release window is SIG’s projection, not a confirmed shipping date for every model.
This revision corrects the expansion of SRDS, adds the Full model’s conflicting length entries, explains the Compact and MACH3D discrepancies, and separates published specifications from unverified performance claims. Existing official product photos and the page URL are retained. Manufacturer specification and support links are editorial references; no retailer availability or commission eligibility is verified here.
