Recommended Concealed Carry Purses and Bags (2026)
Quick answer: A concealed carry purse needs a dedicated, separate gun compartment with a built-in holster, a strong strap that resists snatching, and a size that fits your pistol — and it must stay on your body. These are the purses and bags we currently recommend.

Browning Addison Satchel — Black
How To Choose an Off-Body Carry Bag
- A dedicated, locking gun compartment with a holster that covers the trigger, separate from everything else.
- Strong straps and hardware, ideally with cut-resistant straps.
- Ambidextrous access if you switch shoulders.
- Stay in control: an off-body bag must stay on you or within reach at all times.
If a purse will not work for your routine, a belly band or fanny pack keeps the gun on your body. See carry bags and fanny packs and concealed carry for women.
Recommended Carry Purses and Bags
The Browning Addison Black is a different-model alternative to the unavailable Alexandria listing. It uses PU faux leather, rounded handles and a removable adjustable shoulder strap. Its linked Black Amazon offer showed Add to cart on October 25, 2026, sold and shipped by Amazon.com.
Browning’s Amazon listing specifies a 14 L × 12.5 H × 6.5 W-inch body, two main sections, a zippered middle compartment and interior slip pockets. The separate compartment is listed as 11 L × 7 H inches with access from either side; an adjustable holster and two keys are included. These listing specifications replace the Alexandria figures and are not CCS measurements.
The tradeoff: Addison is a structured satchel, not the same shoulder bag or compartment shape as Alexandria. Compare the complete holstered setup with the opening and usable compartment before ordering. CCS has not newly tested fit or retention, and locking zippers do not make a handbag secure unattended storage.
Jessie & James Dakota Hobo — Black W/ Cow
This different-model replacement for the unavailable legacy hobo uses PU faux leather, top handles and a detachable adjustable shoulder strap. The brand’s Amazon listing gives a 13 W × 12 H × 5.5 D-inch body and an 11.5 W × 7.5 H-inch rear compartment with dual zipper access and an included hook-and-loop holster. Black W/ Cow showed Add to cart on October 25, 2026, sold by Deluxity Innovations and shipped by Amazon. Published dimensions are not CCS measurements or proof of exact holstered fit. Check the opening, attachment and complete trigger protection; a zipper lock does not make this secure unattended storage.

Alternative holster system made from elastic and neoprene, with removable pouches and a phone pocket. Manufacturer states it is NOT compatible with pistol-mounted weapon lights. Check measured belly size, handedness and exact firearm compatibility. A broad fit claim does not establish safe retention or trigger protection.
- Quick-Access Concealed Carry: It features a CCW-compatible main compartment with a 2-way zipper and VELCRO® Brand loop panel, allowing rapid, wide-open access to a firearm.
- Customizable Rapid Access: It comes with an included Rapid Access Pull Tab.
- Durable, Low-Profile Design: Made from water-resistant 100% nylon, it’s built to endure daily use while maintaining a sleek, stylish look that blends into everyday settings.
Vertx Ready Pack X — Evergreen, 20L
The Ready Pack X in Evergreen replaces the unavailable legacy Ready Pack listing. This is a newer model and color, not an identical replacement. The linked Amazon variation selected Evergreen / Ready Pack X and offered Add to cart on October 25, 2026, sold by OutdoorEquipped and shipped by Amazon.
The brand’s Amazon listing identifies a 20L backpack with a removable laptop sleeve, modular interior organization, a convertible front flap with laser-cut MOLLE, a 3D-molded foam back panel and adjustable shoulder straps. These are listing features, not CCS test results. This Amazon offer is for the backpack; it is not the CrossBreed backpack-and-holster bundle previously linked as an alternative. Verify included accessories and exact dimensions with the seller before ordering.
The tradeoff: the newer generation changes the product identity and color. Do not carry over the old bag’s measurements or assume that accessories are included. CCS has not newly tested this model’s comfort, durability or compartment fit.
Before you order: get the free carry-gear checklist, which walks through the fit and compatibility checks to run before you buy a holster, belt or other carry gear.
Carry Purse FAQ
Is purse carry safe?
It can be with a dedicated holster compartment, but the purse must stay on your body and under your control at all times.
